Dear diary,
Since the last entry, Gareth and I had our MTB trip down to S Wales, to Afan Forest Park and rode The Wall trail. Decent day out - 3 hours there, 3 hour-ish ride and 3 hours back (with a small detour to Bridgend to pick up the foolishly-purchased ebay Turbo Trainer). No breakages (mechanical or physical) - just happy, tired and dirty faces.
Squeezed in the Christmas Eve parkrun at Newbold Comyn with Gareth, and with Nick, Alex and Caroline (first-timer, well done !) too. Decent run, not too cold but the santa hat and ermine-trimmed running shirt must have slowed me down (31:54) - 3 minutes slower than last week :( but it was a record turnout (i.e. crowded) and slippy muddy too. Mince pies and carol singing were a nice touch. I didn't notice but Gareth spotted Deb Brookes there for the last couple of weeks too (I'm usually too busy puffing and panting to notice anything much). The mud didn't seem to have slowed her down, looked like a decent time there on the results page.
