Little red shoes

Just treated myself to some new running shoes. Figuring that the injured calf needs some rehab now, it's had enough rest, so maybe a pair of new shoes will help ease it back into action. Meanwhile used the enforced layoff wisely and had my eyes laser-ed so when I'm back in action I'll be one all-seeing, foot-springing actionman. Or something.
 
Might give parkrun a try next weekend if I manage a few shorter runs this week. Thinking about the (70.3) run distance I spose being able to handle twice around Draycote would be a good training distance target - 16km; if I can manage that then the 13.1 should be a breeze?? Is it possible to increase by 1 km per week from a 5km base, that'd take me to the end of Feb if I follow that schedule relentlessly through Christmas etc. Hmmm, that's a huge investment of time at my current running speed !!! Gotta find a speed increase from somewhere - lose weight maybe, stop drinking beer, and other foolish thoughts.
 
Also need to find the time to add another page or two of useful stuff on the fermoitie.org.uk web page, like the-times-I-have-done for various disciplines and distances so we can each see/show how we're doing against our individual aspirations......
