A month or two back I contacted the other dozen bodies who feigned interest in doing the 70.3 and suggested a couple of dates. The latest suggestion was for Sat 21 July and that's only 2 weeks away now. Looks like we have a go situation. Weather might be iffy, but we start off wet anyway, coming out of the pool :) Thin-n-n-g-g-s can only get drierrrrrr ! Wasn't that a chart hit during the 90s ?
Didn't have a lot of positive responses overall though so I may end up doing this solo :(
Couple of weeks ago I finally did a long run - longest run ever - Gareth and I finished a 13.7 km jaunt but through boggy mud (had to retrieve Gareth's shoe by hand!) and including some path-finding and climbing through trees, so didn't record a scintillating time but at least covered the distance and in adverse conditions. The downside? I found a rabbit scrape which jarred my right (bad) knee and it packed in completely closer to home. Compression bandage to the rescue !
Bad times! but at least I know I've now covered the distances INDIVIDUALLY - how difficult will it be to join them up??
